Sharpen Brain Function

Solve Weight Gain Issues

Would you think I’m crazy?

I didn’t realize that snoring was a signal that I was not only affecting my performance in hacking the flow state, but was also limiting my recovery and drastically hindering my health.

Then, one lucky day, I stumbled upon an ancient breathing practice so mind-blowingly simple and powerful, it was like I had entered the Marvel Universe as an all-new superhero and my superhero power was to hack the flow state.

The Breathwork Method Can help you access the flow state an optimal performance state of mind, which is also known as the zone.

In this state of mind you are open; to boosts in creativity, increases in learning speed and improvements in productivity!

Not only that, you lose that inner critic, who sits there criticizing your every move, blocking and hindering your procession in life. And like a real-life superhero… you are fearless.

Why? Because key areas of the brain lessen, quieting down your limbic systems. I will explain more shortly… but first…

What I’m about to reveal to you is life-changing and HUGE.

I want to explain why adding this simple 5-minute exercise can help you cure performance-affecting illnesses like: anxiety, fatigue, sleep problems, respiratory conditions and weight gain issues. All this, while naturally accelerating your recovery rate.

In fact, if you are one of the millions who has fallen victim to one of these illnesses, then you must, for your health and the health of your family and friends, take on board what I am going to reveal to you today.

I want you to stop being a victim of these life-limiting illnesses.

Serious athletes will achieve a superhuman level of performance, fitness enthusiasts will unleash untapped potential, and even if you’re just training to manage your health, well this simple technique will give you the ability to overcome the obstacles in your way to a more healthy vibrant life.

I would just hate for you to remain chained like millions of people to poor health, while remaining hidden from your potential for success in your skill.

Again, this ancient breathing trick is super simple to use and only needs to be performed for 5 minutes minimum per day to reap the rewards.

It dates back over 2,500+ years and was intentionally practiced by our ancient ancestors… but it has been lost, forgotten or perhaps even buried for you. Until today.

Now, hear me out, lean in and open your mind.

I’d just hate for you to be one of those lost sheep, just unconsciously following the herd. Trying to fit in. Looking for the secret supplement to take your trouble away. But this is only blocking you even further away from optimal breathing. Especially if you’re looking to accelerate your recovery rate. So you don’t need to be held back from injuries or illness anymore.

Or if you’re just one of those optimal performance hunters looking to get into the flow like a pro?

Well, speaking of optimal flow performance:

Remember those ancient tribes I was talking about earlier?

Well, there is a native Indian tribe living in Mexico called the Tarahumara. They have a deep-rooted culture of daily long-distance running. It’s believed that this is due to the hunting style of literally running after their prey.

When researchers finally began studying the Tarahumara runners over a course of 26 miles, they found that their heart rate was at 130 beats per minute!
Comparing this to the Western marathon runner. 160-180 beats per minute.

These guys were keeping to a world-class pace, without a hint of emotional or mental concern.

The Tarahumara secret… is what we are talking about today.

But first, I feel the need to let you in on how snoring was a signal that I was not only affecting my performance in hacking the flow state but was also limiting my recovery and drastically hindering my health.

Well, I would hate for you to make the same mistake I did. I don’t want you to gain extra pounds, lower your testosterone, feel fatigued all the time… basically, cause hormonal havoc in your machine.

Sounds crazy, right?

Because the problem that’s been stopping you in your tracks for so long, this invisible backpack filled with boulders, is actually right under your nose. You’re looking down now, right?

Well, it’s best to look in the mirror, so you can see your mouth. That’s right… mouth breathing is the hidden villain. Why?

Because it’s causing you to OVER-BREATHE.

I know it sounds crazy, but read on…

You’ve heard people say this to you: “Take a deep breath in.” Well, that is NOT helping you at all. In fact, that causing the problem!

A scientific study in 2004 on hyperventilation syndrome reported the danger of deep breathing. And this study has been further reinforced over the years.Bottom line…
“More breathing means less oxygen in the body cells.”

“Cerebral blood flow decreases 2% for every mmHg decrease in CO2.”

Let me explain these statements, as I hear you – yes, this does sound contradictory to all you’ve been taught before.

Hypocapnia results in your blood vessels constricting, which then leads to a decreased flow of blood to all vital organs.

Hypocapnia = CO2 deficiency. AND this happens through OVER-BREATHING.

CO2 deficiency causes:

Low testosterone

Restricted blood vessel

Fatigue

Performance anxiety

Fear

Sleep problems

Depression

Poor oxygen saturation

Respiratory problems

Chronic diseases

Muscular weakness

Poor endurance

And way more…

90% of modern people unconsciously suffer from breathing problems

such as chest breathing, mouth breathing and over-breathing, and all of these produce reduced blood oxygen levels in your body and open the door to chronic diseases.

If you’re one of the 90%, then read on. If you’re not one of the 90%, read on too, as I don’t want you to fall into the same trap I was in.

While breathing three times more than the medical recommendation, most of this 90% of people believe that they have good breathing or even normal breathing.

But the scientific data plus my own personal experiences both studying and practicing breathwork say otherwise.

The normal breathing rate is 6-8 breaths per minute. However, if at rest, and your breathing rate is higher, then you need to keep reading this article.

All elite athletes know the importance of recovery. Without it, those competition days will not last long. But do you know the importance of rest and recovery?

If you’re over-breathing at rest, you are not recovering effectively. This is what I learnt the hard way, as snoring was a sign I wasn’t breathing correctly at rest.

And if you’re not breathing effectively during sleep, which is your optimal recovery window, then it’s literally goodnight to your performance level when you wake up.

Listen: if you really want to perform your best and open your potential to a  boost in performance of your skill, sport or profession then you’ve got to take this information on board.

And if you’re someone who struggles with competition anxiety, fatigue, sleep problems, weight gain issues and low testosterone, then really, you’ve got to keep reading this.

So let me recap before moving on.

PROBLEM: Carbon dioxide deficiency (CO2 deficiency)

CAUSE: Over-breathing

SOLUTION: We are coming to that now

This might come as a major shock to you, but you need to make peace with carbon dioxide. Because learning to build your tolerance to CO2 is the answer you’ve been looking for.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) has been getting a bad reputation in the media, but CO2 is pretty much the main driver for your breathing: its control, the lot.
Your body constantly produces carbon dioxide through the use of energy. When carbon dioxide reaches a certain level, a message is sent from your respiratory centre, down the brain stem, to your breathing muscles which trigger the inhalation.

On your exhalation, you exhale carbon dioxide and a new breathing cycle begins. So it’s the carbon dioxide that stimulates you to breathe.

Check this out…

Altitude training has reaped HUGE performance benefits for athletes and has become known as legal doping… thanks to its ability to boost oxygen-carrying red blood cells.

Immediately at 3,000 to 10,000 feet above sea level is where your body releases EPO (erythropoietin), a powerful hormone that boosts the production of red blood cells.

Studies with elite athletes have shown raised levels of haemoglobin – the protein in red blood cells that transports oxygen – translating into a 3% boost in performance on competition day due to this increase.

May not sound big to a non-athlete… but a 3% boost on comp day is MASSIVE

Ok, not all of us have access to mountains to go altitude training.

Well, listen to this, my friend…

Simulation of Altitude Training Through Improving Your CO2 Tolerance

Once you learn to train your CO2 tolerance, you can stimulate the exact same reaction you would get at altitude… boosting your EPO simulation and increasing haemoglobin.

Remember the Tarahumara runners over a course of 26 miles? Can you imagine having a heart rate at 130 when your competition is sitting at 180! That is the ULTIMATE advantage.

Yeh, the Tarahumara do have awesome CO2 tolerance. But there’s another secret weapon this hunter tribe has, which keeps them super calm under pressure, so that they even appear to recover while on the move!

Consciously or unconsciously, the Tarahumara are feeding their bodies with a consistent strong supply of nitric oxide. And how they do this… is how I accelerated my recovery rate.

Yes, I STOPPED SNORING… and learnt a powerful new technique to hack the flow state.

How nitroglycerin became the dynamite for your recovery and performance… Explode your previous results out of the water.

For more than 130 years, doctors were prescribing nitroglycerin for chest pain relief without knowledge of why it worked so well! I’m sure you know, but nitroglycerin is best known for making things go BOOM!

At the time, scientists didn’t know that the nitroglycerin molecule was generating nitric oxide, and it was the nitric oxide that was dilating the blood vessels and supplying oxygen-rich blood to nourish the heart and relieve pain.

In the 1980s, nitric oxide was considered a toxic substance, causing smog.

So when the first article appeared discussing the importance of nitric oxide in the body, the scientific community found it difficult to conceive that a gas so toxic outside of the body played such an important role inside the body.

12 years later… nitric oxide was proclaimed molecule of the year by the journal “Science”.

It was described as a “startlingly simple molecule which unites neuroscience, physiology, and immunology, and revises scientists’ understanding of how cells communicate and defend themselves.”

So what does it do for you?

There are 100,000 miles of blood circulation going on throughout your body. Nitric oxide is the daddy of blood circulation functions.

It is a powerful vasodilator, which means it opens your blood vessels, increasing blood flow and countering the constriction of your vessels caused by a CO2 deficiency.

Nitric oxide has been shown to be important in:

Helping memory and behaviour by transmitting information between nerve cells in the brain

Assisting the immune system in fighting off bacteria and defending against tumours

Regulating blood pressure by dilating arteries

Reducing inflammation

Improving sleep quality

Increasing your recognition of scent (i.e. smell)

Increasing endurance and strength

Assisting in gastric motility

Brain fog, poor concentration, forgetfulness and even the onset of dementia are caused by lack of oxygen to the brain.

Your brain is only 2% of your body’s mass but consumes 25% (!) of your body’s oxygen requirements.

So a lack of adequate blood flow to your brain will dramatically limit the nutrients and the removal of waste, which in turn reduces brain performance and opens you up to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

“About one quart of blood normally flows through your brain every minute. If the amount of blood flow is less than it should be, the brain cannot work efficiently. This can lead to memory loss and other symptoms.”

What improves blood flow? You guessed it… nitric oxide.

Attention, guys…
nitric oxide = boost in testosterone.

Nitric oxide can pick things up… if you know what I mean. Viagra works because of the action of the nitric oxide pathways causing an increase in blood flow and better, stronger lasting erections.

So guys with erectile dysfunction have low nitric oxide levels, and also low testosterone. Nitric oxide and testosterone are like best buds and will not go anywhere without each other.

Testosterone helps reduce inflammation in your arteries. Plaque that is formed during inflammation in your arteries will harden, stopping nitric oxide forming and finding its flow. It’s the Big T that stands up for the nitric oxide and opens the door and lets the flow begin.

Ladies… don’t forget about your testosterone levels too.

Produced in your ovaries and adrenal glands, testosterone begins to lower in your 20s to early 30s.

Low testosterone results in a loss of bone strength, brain function, lean muscle and a loss of SEX DRIVE… so ladies, it’s very important for you to strengthen your nitric oxide,

which in turn will rebalance your testosterone levels back to the sweet spot.

What if I told you that you can get these results without taking any supplements… Where a 5-minute simple exercise will give you hours in the bedroom?

Cool, right? Read on, my friend, because what we are going briefly discuss now, is the ultimate…

So, how does breathing hack you into the zone of optimal performance, where you feel your best and perform your best… where you enter the Flow State?

Just a moment…

let’s answer one question before we go into explaining how breathing can hack you into the optimal performance state and help you maintain flow on a daily basis…

So how does flow feel and what happens in a flow state experience?

The sequence of events that happen during the flow state begin with the release of norepinephrine and dopamine.

These raise your heart rate, tighten focus and improve pattern recognition.

Your brain waves move from beta towards alpha, giving you the ability to link ideas without internal obstructions and filters blocking your flow.

Your prefrontal cortex at this point begins to shut down, giving you the sense of time distorting, effortlessness and of the self dissolving into the task.

You are in a transient hypofrontality, where your inner critic has also shut up, opening you to your full potential.

Your brain then releases endorphins and anandamide, giving you the ability to dissolve away distress and pain.

Simultaneously, anandamide boosts your lateral thinking, allowing you to solve problems in an indirect and creative way.

As you flow deeper in, theta brain waves enhance relaxation and your intuition.

Concluding the experience you have oxytocin and serotonin giving you the “afterglow” feeling of trust, peace, sociability and well-being as you begin to digest the experience you have just been experienced.

Pretty cool, right? Let’s look a little deeper by blending in the work of Prof Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, the founder of the term “flow state”, and godfather for flow state research.

During flow, we see that people express certain characteristics that create a flow experience… Here are nine to give you a feel… but remember, you do not have to express all nine to be in flow.
During flow, we see that people express certain characteristics that create a flow experience… Here are nine to give you a feel… but remember, you do not have to express all nine to be in flow.

Clear Goals – You know exactly what you want to do in flow.

Immediate Feedback – You can instinctively adjust/adapt on the road of your goal.

Action Merges with Awareness – You blend into what you are doing, dissolved into the task at hand.

Progressive Balance – You feel a balance between your skill level and challenge of the skill.

Deep Presence – You are in the deep now of the moment. As Eckhart Tolle calls it: the Now.

Self Consciousness is Gone – You lose your inner critic, feeling fearlessness, where distractions and anxieties don’t surface.

Altered Perception of Time – Time becomes distorted, either moving faster or slower for you.

The Sense of Being at One – You feel this sense of oneness with the task at hand.

Emotionally Neutral – Oxytocin and serotonin are dominant at the tail end of flow. You are emotionally neutral because you’re so involved in the task at hand, all you want is to complete.

As you may already know, I am a world-renowned flow state coach and have been teaching flow for over 23 years… so I am very passionate about this subject.

As you can imagine, I have numerous ways to show you how you can enter flow through breathing… but time is limited and I want to get to the heart of the subject fast.

And yes, I’m literally going to get to the heart of it.

There is an area of your nervous system called the autonomic nervous system which, largely unconsciously, regulates many of your body’s functions, including your digestion, respiratory rate, pupillary response, urination, sexual arousal and heart rate.

You have two branches of your autonomic nervous system (ANS), the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest).

The sympathetic turns the volume up on your organs and glands while the parasympathetic lowers the volume.

Using a method of measuring your sympathetic and parasympathetic called heart rate variability (HRV),

scientists have discovered that when you’re in a peak performance state,

there is a consistent push and pull between your sympathetic and parasympathetic.

In the flow state, your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems are in a progressive coherence. And your main control system for your autonomic nervous system is… breath control.

I have been asked over and over again about this ‘ancient secret breathing method’.
